ABOUT THE ROCKWALL COUNTY LAW LIBRARY
The Rockwall County Law Library was established in 1974 with a small collection of print materials for the County judges and legal community. However, the library collection did not find a central and permanent home until 2011 with the new construction of the Rockwall County Courthouse. The Rockwall County Commissioners' Court is the governing entity of the law library under Texas Local Government Code, Title 10 Section 323.021, and the law library is funded by civil court fees. The Rockwall County Law Library is under the purview of the District Attorney's Office, which staffs a law library attendant to manage the library collection and provide library reference services.
The Rockwall County Law Library is a public law library that is open to all for the purpose of legal research and court-related activities. The goal of the library is to make available to, the legal community of judges, attorneys, and government officials; litigants; and all residents of Rockwall County, a collection of legal resources and materials that serves the needs of legal research by the community.
