Dana K Cullins Macalik was elected to the Rockwall County Commissioners Court (Precinct 2) November 2022, effective January 1, 2023.
Commissioner Macalik has lived in Rockwall County most of her life and graduated from Rockwall High School in 1980. She is a 5th generation or Rockwall County. Her family settled in Heath in the late 1880’s. She is a graduate of the Sam Houston State University with a BBA, General Business-Marketing, and Loyola University Institute, with Operational Management concentration in Administration.
For 17 years, she worked in corporate leadership and management, before assuming the CEO role with the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce in 2011. She is a licensed Realtor with over 15 years’ real estate experience in management and residential sales.
Throughout her professional career, Commissioner Macalik has served in leadership roles in organizations, including Rockwall Rotary Club- Past President, Board of Directors, and Assistant District Governor. Board member - Rockwall Boys and Girls Club, Rockwall County American Cancer Society and Star Transit. She is a graduate of Leadership Rockwall.
She previously served on the 2015 Rockwall ISD Bond Committee. She supported local youth in Rockwall County 4-H, RISD mentoring program and youth organization boards. Her community and civic engagement involvement is part of her passion for Rockwall County. During her career, she was a board member of several professional organizations supporting economic and small business development; including the Texas Association of Business (TAB), Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE) and North Texas Chamber Executives (NTCCE).
Prior to her election as a County Commissioner, Macalik served on the Rockwall City Council from 2017-2022 and Mayor Pro-Tem 2019. With the support of her family and Christian faith, Dana's management and budgeting experience in business provide her necessary tools towards achieving the goals to make Rockwall County and Precinct 2 a great place to live and work.
Commissioner Macalik is married to Jeff; has four adult children and three grandchildren.
