Adult Services

The Adult Reference Services team is here to assist you, whether you're looking for help with a question, eager to learn a new skill, or searching for a great book to read. We offer support with research, technical help, programming, reader's advisory, and scheduled consultations.

Adult Reference Desk

Adult Events

We offer a wide range of programming for adults, including everything from line dancing and cooking classes to gardening and art sessions, ensuring there's something for everyone.

Knitting Club

Friends of the Library Book Club - meets on the second Monday of each month at the Rockwall County Library at 9:30 AM. There are no officers, bylaws, or rules--just a group of people who enjoy reading and discussing books. Join us anytime! This book club meets upstairs in the Quiet Reading Room. 

Genealogy - the Rockwall County Genealogical Society meets the first Thursday of every month from 6-8 PM for those new to genealogy or new to using the genealogy resources at the library. For more information, send questions to rockwallcogensoc@gmail.com

Knitting Club - Our morning knitting group meets every Tuesday at 11 AM for knitting, crochet, and conversation. We also have a Night Owl Knitters group every Thursday from 6-7:30 PM. Basic supplies and instructions can be provided by our regular group members to any beginners. Join us upstairs in the Women's League Conference Room. All skill levels are encouraged. 

Ask-a-Master Gardener - Have questions about plants or gardening? On the first and third Wednesdays of each month, a Master Gardener will be available from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Rockwall County Master Gardener table on the first floor next to the stairs to answer all things gardening.

-The Large Meeting Room requires a $150 refundable deposit and cannot be used for sales meetings, commercial or business purposes.

Women's League Conference Room


The Women's League Conference Room may be reserved for up to three hours a day by a responsible party of a non‐profit group of no fewer than 6 and no greater than 17 persons. Groups of less than 6 may be asked to use a study room. Reservations may be made up to 90 days in advance with a reservation form, but the same group may not reserve the room more than once in any 30 day time period. The room cannot be used as the primary meeting place for any organization or group that is not library sponsored. No standing reservations are permitted. The room cannot be used for sales meetings, client interviews, or other commercial or business purposes. Reservations are subject to cancellation if the room is needed for a library sponsored program or for the use of Rockwall County government. Small Study Room

Study Rooms


Small Study Rooms are available for 1-2 people. Larger Study Rooms seating 4-6 are available for group study. Rooms will be assigned by the Staff on duty. Rooms may not be reserved in advance. Sign-up for a study room is at the upstairs Reference Desk. Study Rooms are available for use by Rockwall County Library card holders. They are neither soundproof nor private and may not be used for sales calls, client meetings, paid tutoring or other commercial purposes.

Services


Book a Librarian - an opportunity for patrons with Rockwall County Library cards (in good standing) to receive individual, focused assistance from a professional librarian in a scheduled 30 minute appointment.

Mobile Printing - We also offer wireless printing from portable devices at 15 cents per page. (6-digit code is 108038)

Scanning - Scan documents to a USB device or email at no charge.

Interlibrary Loans - Call 972-204-7700 or stop by in person to borrow materials from other libraries.
