[ARCHIVED] Library Open

The library has re-opened with limited services and hours. Meeting spaces and soft seating are temporarily unavailable. Some public computers are available with extra limitations. We will be closed Saturdays during this phase of re-opening. If you visit the library, please wear a mask, keep children within arm’s reach, maintain a 6 foot distance from others, and limit your visit to 30 minutes or less. No story times or other in-person programs are scheduled at this time.

You may return items to the drive-through book drop at any time.

Unable to come inside? Click here to request that up to 5 items be pulled for you to pick up at the drive-thru window when staff are available. Please include your library card number. A staff member will let you know when the items are ready or that they are unavailable.

You can read the Texas state guidelines for visitors to libraries and museums here.

We encourage you to stay home as much as possible, relax, and enjoy the Rockwall County Library’s digital resources. We have thousands of ebooks and audiobooks to download for free to keep you and your family entertained, as well as access to a new Magazine and Comics collection from RBdigital. Choose from a variety of ebooks and audiobooks for all ages using Overdrive or RBdigital – and download directly to your mobile device, tablet or computer!  To get started, go to the "Databases & Downloads" page under the “Resources” option on the left menu of the library web page. You can also visit your app store to download the free OverDrive or RBdigital apps. If you do not have a current library card in good standing, anyone can download from Gutenberg.org.

The best way to avoid spreading germs is to stay home when you can and to wash hands with soap and water frequently for at least 20 seconds. If you are exhibiting any symptoms of illness, please wait until you are well to visit out of consideration for others in the community.

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Everyday preventative measures:

  • Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.  If soap and water are not available, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth as much as possible.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home if you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • Clean and disinfect mobile devices (check with the manufacturer on the correct way to clean your phone, tablet or other devices).
  • The virus may be able to live for over 72 hours on hard surfaces, so be especially cautious in what you touch and in cleaning hands frequently.
